I began writing political essays after the November 9th, 2016 elections. They have all been published by The Martha's Vineyard Times: my poem "Who Will Mend Me" (separate page) was published by the Vineyard Gazette. The Electoral College protest held at the State House in Boston, December 2016, was my first since I was 19 —the 1971, D.C. May Day protest. That protest ignited my political passions; the Electoral College protest reignited them. And, it just so happened, that day, December 19th, 2016, was a big milestone birthday for me. Happy Birthday Lorraine! Below I have posted two essays. One I wrote for The March For Our Lives, "Young People Speaking Their Minds", the other "Flight To A Fight", I wrote when I returned home from the Doug Jones campaign in Alabama, December 2017.
